Congratulations to all teams who participated in the 35th Anniversary of the Lotus Iron Race! It was a huge event and a wonderful way to get together on the water! The sense of Ohana in our paddling community was very evident today in the special connections we have developed through this sport. Teams traveled from all areas of the Lower Mainland as well as Vancouver Island, Penticton, Calgary, Kelowna, and Bellingham – how fantastic that you could be with us!

Much appreciation goes to CORA; it would not be possible to put on such an event without your support. Kudos go out to Lotus volunteers who did an incredible job of organizing and coordinating. The Lotus Sports Club would also like to extend its deepest thanks to non-club members who contributed to the success of this race including the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue volunteers, Kim (Manager of SaveOn Foods Austin Station), St. John Ambulance first aid volunteers, the City of Burnaby, Barnet Marine Park staff, Deanna George of Tsleil-Waututh Nation for her blessing of the event, and the Mixed Bag Band for their wonderful music.

Today’s race results are available HERE; please let us know of any discrepancies…

When available, a link for race day photos will be sent to team contacts.

We hope you had as much fun at the race as we did! Hope to see you next year!
