Lotus Iron/Small Boats Races

The Lotus Iron Race was the first outrigger race ever held in Canada! Be part of this historic race in beautiful Indian Arm. Lotus Iron OC6 races will be held on Saturday, June 30 and the Lotus Small Boats Races will be held on Sunday, July 1.

LOTUS IRON OC6 RACE - SATURDAY, JUNE 30, 2012

  • Schedule:
    10:00am - Short Course, Novice & Junior OC-6 (approximately 10km)
    Noon - Women's Open OC-6 (approximately 17km)
    2:00pm - Men and Mixed OC-6 (approximately 17km)
  • Registration (All paddlers must be paid 2012 CORA members):
    $25 per paddler ($150 per team) if registered before midnight on June 16.
    $30 per paddler ($180 per team) late registration after June 16.
    $10 for Junior paddlers ($60 per team).

  • Divisions:
    1) Men
    2) Women
    3) Mixed (minimum of 3 females per team)
  • Category (a minimum of three teams must be registered to make a category):
    1) Junior
    2) Open
    3) Novice (1st or 2nd year of racing)
    4) Masters (40+)
    5) Senior Masters (50+)
    6) Golden Masters (60+)
    7) Kapuna (65+)
  • Barbecue:
    Our infamous Lotus BBQ will follow the races. Extra BBQ tickets will be available on race day for $10. Door prizes will be drawn after races. Awards will be presented at the clubhouse after each heat.

    10:00am - Short Course Novice, Junior, SUP (approximately 6km)
    Noon - Long Course Women, Men, Mixed (approximately 11km)
  • Registration (All paddlers must be paid 2012 CORA members):
    $10 per paddler
    $5 for Junior paddlers
